Tucked behind a strip center, hidden from view of Eldorado Pkwy but only just across the street from Little Elm Beach. There is a hidden gem of a restaurant that serves Brazilian Chicken Catupiry Pizza and Guarana Brazilian Soda. Yes, it's true there is Brazilian Food in Little Elm.

Who put the Brazilian Food in Little Elm?

As Anthony Bourdain is my savior and saint that has guided me through his many episodes of epicurean delights. I have finally found something he has not done a show on, Brazilian Pizza. Yes, hidden in plain site right here across from Little Elm Beach is this tiny Italian Bistro with a small side menu of Brazilian favorites. Bruno's Italian Restaurant with it's craft paper covered tables and friendly staff that actually has a small secret.

Catupiry Cheese

If you have not experienced this buttery, soft and creamy Brazilian favorite that
entices the palette with subtle flavors reminiscent of old fashioned hand churned butter. It seems almost a crime to see it covering a pizza and not a delicate pastry or buttery cracker paired with a fine wine. In my conversations with the Chef discussing this almost undiscovered delicacy gracing a small section of his menu and finding out it was for a special Brazilian pizza only. Here are his hidden gems:

  • Portuguese Pizza - Mozzarella, Canadian Bacon, Peas, Black & Green Olives, Red & Green Bells, Boiled Eggs and Onion
  • Chicken and Catupiry - Delicious shredded Chicken Breast with Mozarella and Catupiry finished with Oregano
  • Quattro Formaggio - Mozarella, Provolone, Gorgonzola, Catupiry finished with Parsely
  • Calabresa - Brazilian Smoked Sausage, Mozzarella, Sliced Onion and Oregano
  • Bahiana Calabresa - Bacon, Sliced Onion and Oregano

Yes, you can even order a 2 liter of Guarana Brazilian Soda to enjoy with your meal to immerse yourself in the Brazilian way of things if only for a few minutes.

Order Off The Menu If You Dare

If you ask the Chef for a Ft. Lauderdale Hoagie with a wink and a smile. Be sure to remind him that it's his Philly Cheese Steak with no peppers and lots of butter on the bun. You my friend will have served to you in all it's piping hotness with cheese dripping
everywhere a real Ft. Lauderdale Hoagie. This is something that cannot be found 'anywhere' North of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A historical reminder of a thirty year sandwich culture that has developed across Florida to appease the hunger and protein needs of high impact water sports enthusiasts.
